Maths, Science and Technology
What does the course include?
AS Maths (Pure & Mechanics) is primarily for students who are also studying sciences, particularly Physics.
AS Maths (Pure & Statistics) is a good choice for students studying a variety of other subjects, such as Computing, Business Studies, Accounting, Biology, etc.
What do I need to get on this course?
We generally need students to have an A or B at GCSE, but will also consider students with C. Also, students who have studied Maths in another country are welcome to try our diagnostic test for entry.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed by examinations and coursework. Each module is assessed with a one and a half hour exam. The C1 paper is a non-calculator paper. A scientific or graphic calculator may be used in all other exams.
Where does it lead?
A level Maths is an impressive subject to have for any Higher Education course with a scientific or statistical element.
