Maths, Science and Technology
What does the course include?
AS Maths (Pure & Mechanics) is primarily for students who are also studying sciences, particularly Physics. AS Maths (Pure & Statistics) is for students who are also studying accountancy, business studies, economics, etc. Everyone studies 2 ‘core’ modules covering algebra, trigonometry and calculus, then an extra module which is mechanics or statistics. The pattern is the same for the A2, with 2 core modules and an additional mechanics or statistics module.
*We also offer the option of further maths*
What do I need to get on this course?
Students generally need to have an A or B at GCSE, but we will also consider students with C. Anyone who does not have a grade A, including students who have studied maths in another country, will need to do well in our diagnostic algebra test.
How will I be assessed?
Everything is assessed through external exams.
Where does it lead?
A Level Maths is an impressive subject to have for any Higher Education course with a scientific or statistical element.
