What does the course include?

The access to nursing evening course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge in preparation for study at higher education, on degree or diploma courses in Nursing/Midwifery. This is an intensive course and requires a high level of commitment and independent study. Students will study a range of subjects including: English Language – Maths – Study Skills – Science – Information Technology – Social Sciences and Professional Studies.

What do I need to get on this course?

No formal qualifications are needed. Applicants will be invited in for an English and Maths assessment prior to interview to determine the appropriate course level. A basic understanding of the nursing profession is desirable and students can research the various options in preparation for interview on the NHS Careers Website.

How will I be assessed?

Accreditation towards Access Certificate.

Where does it lead?

To a degree or Diploma level courses in Nursing, midwifery or health studies at Higher education, institutions, e.g. Greenwich, Kings College London, South Bank, Thames Valley, City and Middlesex Universities.
