How to Apply for a Course

September 2012 Courses

You can now apply online for Full time courses beginning in September 2012.

Step one

You can apply online now for our courses starting from September 2011.

Step two

You will be asked to come in for a ‘Welcome to College Day’ where you will be able to meet the course tutor who will talk to you about the course and be able to answer any questions you may have. You will be asked to take an assessment of your literacy and numeracy skills. This is to make sure that the course you are applying for is the right level for you and check if you will need any
extra support during your studies.

Step three

If successful we will invite you back for a short one-to-one interview with the course tutor, or advise you on other potential courses.

Step four

We will write to you confirming the course offer you have been given and to explain how and when you must enrol.

Step Five

Come to Greenwich Community College to complete your enrolment.

You must have completed Steps 1 to 5 before your place on the course is secure.

What do I need to bring with me to enrol?

  • Please bring a means of identification with you such as:
  • Your Birth certificate
  • Your Passport if you were born outside the UK, plus any Home Office documentation confirming your status
  • Documents providing details of your status as a refugee or asylum seeker if applicable.
  • If you want to enrol on a qualification course, you must bring any exam results or certificates. This helps us find the right course for you (quickly). If you cannot show us your qualifications, you may be asked to complete an initial assessment which could delay the process for you (please see step 2).
  • If you are on benefits please bring proof of benefits with you, such as a letter from the Benefits Agency, which must be dated within the most recent 3 months.

Not providing documents on the day can result in delays to your enrolment.

How long will it take me to enrol?

Please allow between 4 or 5 hours to enrol. If you have children, please find alternative childcare arrangements on the day you enrol.
