This one-year course is for international students with 12 years of secondary education and the required standards of English language, preparing them for entry onto their chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Bath. Students who achieve the necessary grades during the International Foundation Year are guaranteed automatic progression onto Year 1 of their degree at the University of Bath. There is no UCAS application required for this course, which means that the application process is easy and fast.
The teaching team on the Foundation Year programme are all highly experienced experts in their subject fields. Many of them hold higher degrees, including at PhD level. 67% of the teachers selected for the programme have been awarded grade 1 as part of the College’s quality assurance process and 84% have achieved a grade 2 (good) or better. The teachers are committed to providing the very highest learning experience for their students. The College has a proven reputation for its excellent support and care for its learners achieving a grade 2 (good) in a recent Ofsted inspection for this aspect of its work; inspectors commented on the positive impact we have had on the academic prospects of so many of our learners

The International Foundation Year is a modular course starting in September each year, and is divided into two 15-week semesters. The course will prepare students for study in a university environment and will ensure that they have the necessary skills to make a smooth transition to higher education in the UK. The course includes study skills, lectures, tutorials and laboratory work if appropriate.
