Summer 2008 saw the rebirth of Skillsfest! Students & staff had a busy but fun time promoting courses at GCC.

For three weeks we were out & about handing out prospectuses & freebies to the general public at supermarkets and high streets.

Pure dedication and hard work from GCC students meant we were able to hand out a total of 8,451 information packs within three days at nine different locations. The 2008 roadshow was the most successful yet and saw an increase in the packs handed out for the fourth year in a row.

A typical day consisted of meeting up at the college to prepare information packs. These packs consisted of Part Time Prospectus, LSC Leaflet/Scratch Card, E-Skills Leaflet, Charlton Leaflet, Meridian Music Centre Card, Skillsfest Leaflet, pen, button badges and a key ring. After a fun packed morning of packing bags we would head out to supermarkets to hand them out.

Some days were very busy and we would hand out packs and prepare them at the same time. Each day varied according to the venue and the weather!!!!

The overall feedback from the public was really positive and there was a genuine enthusiasm to look through the college offer.

Having the students on board was fantastic and they were excellent ambassadors for Greenwich Community College.
