LSIS the Learning & Skills Improvement Service was formed by the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) and the Centre for Excellence (CEL). This year, according to Joe Martin, strategic coordinator for learner and citizen empowerment at LSIS, they received “a record number of entries, all of an exceptionally high standard”.

Our nomination, shortlisting and subsequent award really marks us out as an excellent organisation that takes the learner voice seriously. Rav’s well-deserved accolade is a testament to her hard work with learners and her untiring promotion of the learner voice, which really is at the heart of everything we do.

The National Union of Students also held us up as a model of good practice nationally, saying that Greenwich Community College represented “a shining example of what can be achieved”.

This year we will continue to involve learners in making the decisions that affect them, helping us to form policy and working together to develop excellent practice. Next year we’re going for gold!
