World Aids Day was marked on the 1st December 09 in the Student Union.
Students were encouraged to attend the exhibition to gain knowledge and raise awareness about aids. Exhibitors such as Metro, Compass and Ahead spoke to students about sexual health and advice; drug awareness and substance misuse.
“We were pleased to see a good turnout of students making the day a great success.” These were some of the comments from exhibitors who were more than happy to provide information to students.
Student union representative, Tanya Jelly who attended the event said “Poor people with aids around the world receive limited support and treatment in comparison to us and for that reason I’m happy the college arranged this event.”
