1st Course Free at GCC was the first stepping stone onto my new career. In July 2008 I would have never expected to be running my own photography business.
I had always been interested in photography as a hobby and after studying Photographing People at the Greenwich Park Centre I went onto doing a Diploma in Photography at London College of Communication. Karen Rawlinson was an excellent tutor who showed me how to enhance my hidden talent. The lessons were consisted of a mix between indoor and outdoor photography.
Studio lessons were a great advantage; we learnt how to use a range of equipment which helped to vary the light needed to capture the ultimate shot. The fully kitted photography studio gave me the opportunity experiment and learn how light plays a key role in the capturing the best shot. Other than indoor photography we also had the chance to photograph outdoor in locations such as touristic spots of Greenwich and the commercial hub of Canary Wharf. We were also taught how to critically analyse photographs and understand what captured in that moment.
At present I’m a freelance photographer in South Africa, specialising in food and portraiture photography. Follow my journey on Facebook & Twitter
