A course in sustainability skills tailored for ESOL students received a visit from NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) as part of a national research project about education for sustainable development.
Jane Ward from NIACE visited the ESOL class run by GCC tutor and sustainability ‘champion’ Linda Ruas at our Plumstead Centre to see how sustainability is not only embedded into the course but also the lifestyle of the students.
The visit left Jane very impressed:
“It was a real privilege to discuss sustainability with the group of students. I was very inspired by what Linda and her students have achieved together. The course seems to have made a real difference and it was exciting to hear about these benefits.”
Jane has also written about her visit on her blog, where you can join in the discussion about sustainable development in education.
