Celebrating the work of fashion students the Casino Royale fashion showcase drew over 200 guests to London Gaming College and included final collections of our level 3 BTEC students, along with other fashion students on level 1 & 2 courses.
The show demonstrated the Fashion department students’ ability to design the finest creations.
Our final year level 3 students showed collections based on ‘Urchins of the deep’, ‘ Space’, ‘Retro Sweets’, ‘50’s Glamour’ and ‘Architecture’. The ‘Space Project’ is taken from the theme of Sci-fi films of the 1970’s like ’2001 A Space Odyssey and Battlestar Galactica’.
Jamilla Khan’s brilliant ‘Architecture’ collection collaborated research on modern architecture & fashion using it as inspiration garments designed with a focus on ‘structure’ using a muted colour palette.
Students also visited the ‘Hussein Chalayan’ Exhibition at the Design Museum as part of their research and inspiration for the project.
Many of our final year students have successfully secured a place within higher education establishments across London.
Jamilla Khan (Architecture Collection pictured) and Joanna Mason (50’s Glamour Collection pictured), have both secured places at Ravensbourne college on the Foundation Degree in Womenswear”.
Many thanks to Chandler Wright of Blackheath for donating their time to style the hair for the show and of course to everyone else involved in making the show a success.
