We are running a series of History Lectures in partnership with the Old Royal Naval College at their recently opened Clore Duffield Learning Suite.
Situated in the heart of the World Heritage Site at Greenwich, the Old Royal Naval College is an inspiring place for everyone to visit with its historical architecture and world famous locations such as the Painted Hall for art and photography. We are committed to delivering high quality programmes which provide learning opportunities for people of all ages. The new Clore Duffield Learning Suite is designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences and will enable increasing numbers of people both locally and further afield to participate in a range of specialist workshops and lectures run by the Greenwich Foundation in partnership with Greenwich Community College.
This exciting series of lectures using visual aids, will comprise of stories of lives past and present to explore the significance of the Old Royal Naval College and Maritime Greenwich to London and British culture. Acclaimed speakers will impart fascinating knowledge ranging from architectural and archaeological local expertise to enthralling social history facts of the likes of the Greenwich Pensioners.
This series can be attended as a complete ‘local history course’ providing you with a rounded understanding of the World Heritage site, it’s people and surrounding areas or as ‘one off’ lectures. Refreshments will be provided in the interval allowing you the opportunity to network with like minded people. The first lecture will be of Historic Greenwich – an overview of its history and development from the earliest times to the present day.
Each individual lecture costs £20 each or you can book the complete series of lectures for £179.
