Greenwich Community College is working in partnership with Trust Thamesmead in offering free Taster and Level One Accredited Award courses in Community Development.
Open to everyone aged 16+ who lives, works or volunteers in Thamesmead, the course would benefit those who lead or are a member of a community group, about to set up a community group or service providers who work with community groups.
The course will help you:
- Learn how to take control
- Discover problem solving techniques
- Learn how to deal with new challenges
- Meet new people and learn from their experiences
- Learn how to inspire and lead your group
Arnott Pre-school Manager and previous course attendee Tracy Norcott said: “I had been chipping away at one particular issue for years; but attending this course everything just clicked! It gave me a different perspective on how to deal with the issue and it’s worked!”
Whilst another previous course attendee Julie Feleppa said: “I learnt about group dynamics, their development and how they work as well as learning how to reach those hard to reach groups.”
The first set of courses will be running during Local and Community History Month which runs throughout May, for further information regarding dates, times and venues and to book your place, call Rachel Wiltshire on 020 8853 7034.
