We run a variety of Higher Education Programmes here at Greenwich Community College. These are delivered here at the college but are validated by universities.
GCC has carefully chosen to work with partner universities that share the same ethos and sense of values, our current, preferred partner Higher Education Institution for local provision is the University of Greenwich, with whom we have worked closely to develop the Foundation degrees.
We are also very pleased to have a new partnership with Canterbury Christchurch University for our Teacher Education Programme (DTLLS). Working with these universities benefits you directly as you are awarded your degree from the University associated with your course and you can utilise their resources and facilities.

Qualifications to meet your needs
At Greenwich Community College we offer a range of full and part time programmes delivered during the day time and in the evening because we understand that students have other responsibilities and getting time off work to study can be difficult.
We offer a wide range of courses across four different departments; Education, Science, Computing and Events Management. We are developing our portfolio of programmes to include Health and Social Care and Applied Professional Studies.
Foundation Degrees
A Foundation Degree is a degree level qualification which combines academic study with work place learning. They are designed in association with employers and aim to equip students with knowledge and skills that are recognised by both academia and relevant to the work place, resulting in the achievement of a Foundation Degree .Foundation degrees are unique as they focus on a particular job or profession and are designed to for current or potential staff within the field.
On the successful completion of a Foundation Degree students graduate and are invited to a formal graduation ceremony at the partner University. If students wish to continue with their study they can complete a ‘top up year’ (the final year of an agreed degree programme) this will enable them to achieve a full Honors Degree (BA or BSc).
As with all degree level qualifications there is an expectation that students will carry out extensive independent reading and research in addition to the time spent in class.
GCC offers the following Foundation Degree courses in partnership with University of Greenwich
