e-Skills Centre

e-skills centre

The e-Skills Centre is the location for online learning and testing at the College, as well as Learndirect courses and the ITQ qualification. It is also where College students can study in a quiet, informal environment so they can complete homework assignments, college coursework or do some internet research.

We are very proud to have recently achieved the Matrix accreditation for the e-Skills Centre. It shows that we are committed to continuous improvement of our service. All the staff in the Centre are focussed on creating an environment conducive to learning, so that the learner experience at the College is a good one.

When you walk into e-Skills Centre, staff are there with a welcoming smile to direct your learning in a quiet, yet atmospheric, environment. So, whether you are here for…

  • Initial Assessment
  • Diagnostic Testing
  • Induction
  • Course Enrolment or
  • Online Testing

…you can access a wide range of learning opportunities to develop your employability skills, with practical qualifications and expertise that employers want.

Our Centre

We have undergone a rigorous process to receive the industry-recognised Matrix Accreditation – the unique quality framework for the effective delivery of information, advice and guidance on learning and work. Matrix accreditation is only awarded to Centres who fully comply with the meticulous standards of quality and where staff and students are asked about the learning environment, the support from tutors, their qualifications as well as areas of continuous improvement.

The e-Skills Centre provides an interactive, blended way of learning using a combination of e-learning and information and learning technology (ILT), as well as individual support practices, high quality initial advice and guidance, and tutor and peer support. In order to ensure learner needs are met, the provision of information, advice and guidance is embedded in the learner journey from the first contact until their progression route is completed.

Our Tutors

Our friendly, approachable and helpful staff have an understanding of the learners needs because they have all completed at least one of the Learndirect courses, and most of them are ITQ Assessors. This means that they have detailed knowledge of the courses and first-hand experience of what is required to complete our courses. Additionally, they are encouraged to gain new qualifications and skills to help them in their personal and career development so that they are competent to deliver a high quality service.

If you would like to make an appointment to complete an Initial Assessment and get advice on the best course to suit your needs please call us on 0208 488 4839 or email us
